Suggestions for Winter Makeup Application

Winter is dull and boring. However, there is no reason your makeup has to be dull and boring as well. Check out our tips to keep winter makeup looking hot even in the coldest of temperatures!

Try using a foundation that offers you a bit more coverage for the winter. You don’t have to go with anything super heavy, but everyone can benefit from a little more coverage in the winter months. Plus, you will not have to be concerned with your makeup wearing well enough like you do in the warm weather. Stay away from very matte finishes. More dewy foundations will keep your skin looking soft and hydrated.

Use your powder sparingly. This is a tip you should follow all year. This does not mean you should never wear powder. This just means that you should use a minimal amount of powder. Powders tend to give the skin a dry appearance. A little will go a long way. Use a small amount to finish your makeup and , if needed, provide a little more coverage. That is it. Also, if your skin is oily, try not to keep piling powder on throughout the day. Instead, keep oil blotting sheets handy. These work great to control shine, and you won’t have to worry about your makeup looking too heavy.

Don’t be afraid of bold colors in the winter months. This goes for eyeshadows, lipcolors, and cheek colors. A lot of women automatically lean towards brown and taupe hues as soon as the fall arrives. Try not to do this. Winter is a great time to experiment with deep berries and beautiful wine tones. I suggest you choose one feature to focus on. Choose between your lips and eyes. Try not to go heavy on both at the same time. So, if you are going for a strong smokey effect on your eyes, choose a soft berry gloss for your lips.

I hope you enjoyed checking out our tips for winter skin care and makeup. Give these techniques a try, and your makeup will look great all year long!
